Comments Thread For: DeGale's Adviser Sees Groves Rematch For IBF Belt

Ambrose Mendy, adviser to Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (20-1, 14KOs), says his fighter could end up facing George Groves (21-2, 16KOs) in a rematch for the vacant IBF super middleweight title.

Froch was recently ordered by the IBF to defend his title against DeGale, the mandatory challenger. Froch has until the end of January to reach an agreement or a purse bid will be ordered. The Nottingham boxer has expressed very little interest in facing DeGale.

As much as I don't think Ugly Kid deserves another world title shot, I want to see him splattered over the Wembley canvas again

Wow, it's almost as if Andre Dirrell never fought that IBF eliminator...

Is Froch allowed to guarantee DeGale a title shot and take a voluntary defense? Or is he at the ultimatum of DeGale or vacate the title?

I'd hate to see DeGale not get the chance to prove it against Froch, but can't be too mad at Froch if a Chavez fight really did materialize.

Degale should've been a World Champion by 2012, but better late than never.

Was that even a final eliminator? I'm wondering why the hell Edwards/Dirrell was an eliminator.... did making Jack go down a water slide jump him up to top 3?

Financially it would be best if they both bought titles to the ring if there to fight. Groves should travel to the USA & take on Dirrell 1st.
