U can ask all u want. If the networks and promoters don't see any profit potential then he won't get it.

150K is an absolute ****ing joke. However, I understand that HBO is in a weird position. Ever since I've been watching boxing, I can't name a time when the flyweight division got huge support from HBO/Showtime. They're probably assuming that the American audience won't care and the fight will flop in the ratings. The magnitude of the bout and its potential entertainment value warrant good purses, but HBO has gotten stingy. Do they give each guy a $1mill? Seems like a lot by HBO's standards.

1 Mill for each fighter seems like a stretch to me, splitting 1 Mill seems a tad bit more logical. To be honest with you only the hardcore fans know these two fighters even exist, and yet most of the knowledgable fans of the sport don't even dare watch anything below the 122 weight division... I could also imagine what they are thinking and i just don't see how such an "underground" fight in one of the sport's smallest divisions could possibly pull it's own weight. Especially in a major network where most fans seek to watch two meatheads caving each others faces in.

I remember a few months ago, people were giving this guy "mad props" because he fought for "pride" and not money

500K each seems reasonable. The other obstacle: does this match headline its own card? I don't see HBO going for that either. I think they would put this as a co-main with a proven draw headlining, maybe GGG? 3G, Gonzalez and Estrada on the same card would be mind-blowing.

no he doesn't deserve that money? he doesnt have the big following to be demanding for that kind of money, he knows they are not going to give it to him and thats his way of getting away from getting his butt kicked
