Do pac and floyd need to pass the torch?

they got their torch from hoya, maybe they should be fighting to pass it on? they are both thinking of retiring soon and because they didn't fight in their prime now we have this issue that whoever wins today isn't gonna do much else afterwards, probabley just retire after that, having left nothing behind for the sport

i think if they have to fight till well into their 40's till some young thundercat finally sparks'em, so be it, if they just leave now there's nothing for the casual to look forward too

mikey garcia needs to move up quicker and fight crawford, then winner fights pacquiao at 140, it's a risk but it needs to be done
at some point mayweather should fight khan also

or do you think it wont really matter?

I'm not sure who will be the face of boxing after Floyd and Manny are gone.

Canelo had his chance, blew it terribly and still doesn't have that one career defining win.

Golovkin is still in the workings to be the next star, but can't land a big fight.

That would be great but I don't see anyone talented enough to do it, when I say talented enough I mean someone with a VERY good chance. I want to see Thurman go through adversity again, want to see more of Brook who impressed me and I do think Porter has potential to bounce back better, especially if there is no drug testing involved. Danny Garcia is who he is, he has shown his toughness many times and I think he's only gonna get better.

Can't forget about Ortiz who intends to be the GOAT.

At WW, the only guy I see that can beat everyone and have a big fan base behind him is, Kell Brook. That guy's gonna take over the WW division as soon as they leave.

Brook/Thurman/Khan need to fight, and proclaim the undisputed best at WW. For the new guys I mean.

If Brook puts on another performance like he did against Porter, I might get on the bandwagon. Certain things that bother me though, Brook is stocky as fuck, I'm not sure he's gonna be able to make the weight comfortably.

It's important to remember how Pacquiao and Mayweather got the torch, by winning. They don't need to pass it on to anyone; someone needs to take it from them or craft their own.

canelo can still be a star, this is why he needs the cotto fight, if he beats cotto his stock will rise, if he beats golovkin, i think a star is born, but it's a tall order
