Comments Thread For: Penalosa: Donaire Too Slow at 126, Can Win Belt at 122

Trainer Jonathan Penalosa, who previously worked with former champion Nonito Donaire (33-3, 21 KOs), says the boxer is still very capable of winning a world title - but at super bantamweight. He feels Donaire has become too slow at the featherweight limit of 126-pounds and needs to drop down.

Donaire struggled in his stoppage win over Vic Darchinyan and then he was knocked out in his featherweight title fight with unbeaten puncher Nicholas Walters.

After so many duckings , you fought rigo and got exposed . But credit for you cause at the end you fought him .

I think you beat santacruz, mares ,quigg and frampton at 122 . You are used to be the bully , the heavier guy , that's why you dominated the lower division .

You beat those 122 , you got more power , and none of them will box you like Rigo did .

Donaire , you hit harder than them , go and beat the jokes of santacruz and quigg , I'll root for you , at least you fought rigo and I give you credit for it .

Hit and no be hit ; you cAn not hit what you don't see .

Donaire is done. From changing trainers, leaving his dad etc... and not being in full training camps.

Ridiculous how Robert Garcia who was corner man, only trained Donaire through phone calls for the Rigo fight. Like, what the **** is that?

Maybe Donaire doesn't like to be trained hard?I know he left his dad over some issues, and I don't know what haha. It's the same with JCC Jnr, some people aren't mentally into boxing.

There are gym ****, and then there are people who just don't love training at all.
