Good Fight. I'm not sure though. A year ago I would rolled with Mares without second thought. But now its a little different. Leo, as we know could give two ****s about defence. So he gets hit alot. But the plus side to that is im pretty convinced he could take a punch or he wouldnt have adapted that style as a pro. Mares on the other hand I think has done an excellent job of hiding a suspect chin. Not just cause Gonzales kayod him but because of how poor I remember his recovering abilities to be in that fight. Does Santa Cruz Hit as hard as Gonzales. No. But he is a volume puncher and packs a descent punch and i think could drop Mares to keep the fight close/interesting. Plus Mares cuts easily IMO.
If its a stoppage win Ill go with Santa Cruz
But Id expect mares to use his speed and better boxing ability for the UD.
Its all about who can implement their gameplan in this one. The tricky part is how do you take Santa Cruz out of his game when he only fights one way.
Sorry to throw salt on your boy. Just giving my perspective.
Good question and an even better fight to be made towards the second half of the year.Comment

Sometimes when you keep an animal in the cage for too long they get scared to come out. But then again his ****** trainer thought it would be best to cage his ho hum fighter for 2/3 of the fight. Against one of the best of our generation.

I'm not sure we would really want it to be mainstream. Lots of things would have to change in order for that to happen. Specifically corruption (which I don't condone) but it too is part of the sport we love so I accept it. That's half the drama. Imagine taking the drama out of boxing? We'd have 50 million casual fans tuning in just cause. Then we'll probably start seeing headgear and crap.
You lose the drama people start to lose the passion for the sport. Boxing is like a Soap Oprah for the alpha male. Leave the mainstream stuff to the betas
For me I say **** mainstream. Niche mob all day err day!Last edited by -MEGA-; 01-03-2015, 10:03 PM.Comment

Bud Crawford is moving up to 140lb...since he is the WBO 135lb champion, is it possible he could get fast tracked to the title fight?Comment
-
Yes, and I expect it from him. he may take one fight at 140 then go for a belt. May just jump right into a title shot. Who knows? From what I've gathered from crawford is that he want to keep testing himself And push his limits. Which is what Bob does and likes from his fighters. When/if he comes up short then he'll start pacing himself and his career. I really like Crawford and think he could/should jump into most p4p lists this year.Comment
