When Cotto can take slightly less money to fight extremely less dangerous fighters like Lee, or the guy Angulo lost to, the one who just got knocked out himself. Or Korobov or Quillin or Rosado.

Or maybe he's waiting it out to cash out fighting feather fist Floyd. He will make a ton of money, and leave the ring with some dignity after sparring with Floyd in pillows for a guaranteed 12 rounds.

Like I said Canelo-Cotto, I could take it or leave it. It's whatever. I will watch it to check out some highlight real combos in a dominate win for Canelo.
Cotto is no walk in the park for anyone! Who did Floyd Mayweather say was his toughest outing? The Margarito lost was highly questionable and I wish his uncle would have checked those hand wraps ! The lost to Manny is also suspect because Cotto did not have a corner and no one even speaks on this, his father stuck his head between the ropes around the 8th or 9th round and gave him a kiss on his head, Cotto is one of the best at following the game plan! He had no game plan against Manny! With roach he will follow the game plan, against Martinez he followed the gameplan! I don't care what version of Martinez showed up he was going to lose or die winning ! The only true losses are against Mayweather and Trout ! Everyone that Cotto faced sat how much faster he is than they expected and the man packs a punch! Also they speak on his ability and defense, that he is not easy to hit clean as they thought he was going into the fight - see I hate when people just try to push people to the side like they are irrelevant or something, Cotto is proven, his resume speaks for itself, and Can is sounding very desperate right now which plays into a veteran negotiator like Cotto hands - Cotto has a good chance of going in there and beating the shyt out of Canelo! After the combination punching what else does Canelo have? Defense? Stamina? Footwork? I think not !

Canelo has some room for improvement, but he is a force at JMW, and has learned alot for being in his mid 20s. And while Cotto, a warrior, has the edge in experience, I doubt anyone would argue he's been in more wars and is obviously 10+ years older. Roach has improved him, but still there are alotta ways this can look like a 50-50 fight going in.

What Canelo has is the ability to fight. he's tough and his will to fight is an intangible beyond what Cotto can match.

That's the problem with people on here. You guys get all caught up in the glamour and gilts. These fights are won on being tough. You fight fire with fire. Certainly Cotto will not laast in a war. He will have to box, and be smart. Lets see how he handles the heat.

You make it sound like Canelo is some immovable force or pressure fighter that is in wars fight in and fight out. He's not a prime Margarito who threw 1,000 punches a fight while constantly putting pressure. He doesn't have a total disregard for his chin, he boxes. Truthfully, he's more of a boxer puncher like Cotto. What pressure did he put on Mayweather or Lara? He was more of a boxer puncher that got outboxed by both imo.

That being said, Cotto is more than glamour and glits. Yeah, he got chopped down by prime versions of Margs & Pac, that's what happens when you face the best and stand toe to toe. If you don't think there's any technique, punching power, intangibles, toughness or will behind Cotto's career than I'd say you've missed out on a damn good fighter. Why do most fans and media want this bout? It's because its one of the better matchups and it's a pick'em at this point.
