Comments Thread For: Canelo: Cotto is a Natural Fight That People Want

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) is waiting, like everyone else, to see if a deal can be reached for a fight with WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs). In an earlier article on BoxingScene.com, Cotto's legal adviser said his side was looking to finish up the negotiations by next week but makes no guarantee that a deal will be reached.

Its going to be cool to see Canelo finally able to showcase his offensive arsenal because Cotto is a brave warrior so props for that. However, it's just a tune up for Canelo - GGG. Obviously. I could take it, or leave it. And I'm sure Cotto don't really want it. He's being borderline forced into it.

Canelo wants to make one of the biggest fights in boxing and people still bitch because it's "Canelo". At least it seems he's the only diva that's a sure thing in willing to make the fight.

Roadblocks in negotiations are killing the buzz of this fight. When they initially proposed the fight I was hyped up looking forward to it but now i'm like whatever.

Who the fck they think they are, Pac and Floyd lol

I know you don't like Cotto, but you have a point. Cotto does not appear to be truly interested in this fight and I think I know why. I think he's well aware his chance of getting the **** beat out of him are very high, and almost guaranteed.

When Cotto can take slightly less money to fight extremely less dangerous fighters like Lee, or the guy Angulo lost to, the one who just got knocked out himself. Or Korobov or Quillin or Rosado.

Or maybe he's waiting it out to cash out fighting feather fist Floyd. He will make a ton of money, and leave the ring with some dignity after sparring with Floyd in pillows for a guaranteed 12 rounds.

Like I said Canelo-Cotto, I could take it or leave it. It's whatever. I will watch it to check out some highlight real combos in a dominate win for Canelo.

I don't really dislike Cotto, I just like to target the dumb fanatic fanbases that love to exaggerate everything their boxer does.

I just hate the state of the way boxing is going in the USA. More people are focused on ppvs and money than everything else.
