I'm sure it's possible, as Broner used to be on the WBO rankings. Hell, Garcia is there and he hasn't even fought at 140 yet! I guess it's because he was a former WBO champion, but that was 2 weight classes below. Broner should fight Soto to get on the rankings.
At least Peterson's a top 140lb fighter, which Broner shouldn't even be considered as. He's had two fights there and only one opponent is even worth mentioning. I'm convinced that if Haymon wanted this (or other match-ups) to be made, they would get done. He has control of the top 3 @140 (Garcia, Matts, Peterson) and look at how stagnant the division is becoming. Postol gets paid to step-aside for seemingly no reason. Broner is yelling for a fight, but if what he wants doesn't fit into Haymon's vision, then it doesn't matter.
Because Broner said so
. Those who constantly talk are heard most. The guy who's probably one of Haymon's top priorities is yelling that dangerous fighters like Maidana/Matts are ducking him....how much sense does that make when you really think about it? As I've said before, if anyone's career is getting preserved in this situation, it's Broner. He's a 25 year old loudmouth American fighter who does good ratings and reminds casual fans of Floyd. What reason does Matts need to be protected or matched very carefully?
