Comments Thread For: Tony Bellew Return Eyed For April, World Title Target

British cruiserweight contender Tony Bellew (23-2-1, 14KOs) is potentially going to fight on April 18th, according to the Liverpool Echo. Bellew, who last year moved up by 25-pounds to cruiserweight, gained revenge in November with a twelve round split decision win in his rematch with Nathan Cleverly. The fight was a WBO title eliminator. Bellew has now racked up three victories at the weight.

Bellew would surely lose to any of the top cruiserweights like Usyk, Makabu, Drozd or Lebedev.

        ... Yes...

... And he has to fight Huck in Germany -- which would result in a guaranteed loss on points.
... Hernandez would "school" him in that "Cuban manner".

Bell-end loses to all the top CWs. Lebedev and Huck destroy him, Hernandez embarrasses him, Chakhkiev demolishes him, even Arslan would pummel him into submission. At best he'd have some chance against a lazy, unmotivated Wlodarczyk (like the one that lost to Drozd) if he boxed from a distance.

He probably would lose to these guys. But Bellew can punch and always fights with 100% commitment, so you can never write him off.

I think Huck, Makabu, Chakhiev, Usyk and Kudryashov blow a hole through Bellew.

I think Tony could rattle Hernandez's brains though. Braithwaite and Ross were able to do it. Hernandez is probably one of the most disappointing lineal champions in history..
