Why are floyd fans looking to a cotto rematch to save the day?

Only? How much do you think Showtime invests? You need to know that before you can determine whether or not they're making a profit.Comment

Hey...given all the factors, its safe to assume that they didn't turn a profit. You can say they did but all points to what's being reported and that's that they took a big hit on both fights.Comment

1. You don't know how much the MGM cut is (BTW Floyd, not Showtime, takes care of them).
2. Even if they took half, you'd still have $8m remaining at least
3. Foreign and TV rights, sponsorship, etc. total up to anywhere between $5-15m.
But again, you can't say they didn't turn profit if you don't know their expenses. Period.Comment

Too honourable for what?
In think Cotto and Floyd see opportunity in each other at the moment. Floyd sees a shot at some fake history, Cotto genuinely believes he's a force under Roach and could make some real history.
The longer the Canelo negotiations drag on the more plausible it seems.
I don't see Floyd-Cotto next. Let's see.Comment

David Diaz and Antonio Margarito, the two fights no one bashed. (No one as in none of the usual suspects). "Oh it doesn't matter, the fights are going to be great and action packed. None of us are excited for the belts, it's the actual fight".
Floyd does it, and all hell breaks lose.
I rather see Mayweather vs Pacquiao over Mayweather vs Cotto II, and I rather see May-Cotto II over May-Khan.
So Manny fought David Diaz and Antonio Margarito twice?
Unless you are a fan of one of them and even then, most didn't care much about seeing Floyd vs Cotto. Most were saying "it happened 5 years too late."
More importantly, almost nobody has ever said that a rematch was necessary. Also, Floyd fans contradict the matter by saying that "Floyd is too small to fight GGG at 154 let alone 160 but OK to fight Cotto at 160"Comment

I doubt very much they have any access to financial statements that you and I can't access. Only Showtime knows. The bottom line is, looking at total revenue, which is near $100m altogether, it is very silly to assume they took a loss. But again, unless you know their expenses/liabilities, you can't say.Comment
