Why are floyd fans looking to a cotto rematch to save the day?

Well, it's the second best option, not much else I can add to that. Cotto may not have won many rounds but he made it tough and is likely to do the same in a rematch.

I'm a fan and I want him to fight Pac as much as anyone. I don't have any interest in seeing a Cotto rematch despite the Cotto buttlovers and Floyd detractors claiming that the "new and improved Roach-trained" Cotto would beat Floyd easily (and yet they would consider fighting Cotto again a cherry pick. Yea, let that sink in)
