Unless my memory deceives me Grant was a far better boxer. Not that Wilder has to be on par skill wise 'cause their isn't a heavyweight out there right now that is anywhere as good as Lennox was.

I know he doesn't have a whole lotta credibility now, but at least
Grant beat Golota and Obed Sullivan (better than a journeyman at the time)...People were picking Grant, whether they want to admit it now or not

Being big has become a basic requirement in the HW division but it's not enough on its own. So far we know Wilder is big but not a whole lot else.

Jury's still out on Wilder but we should see how good or bad he is, when he faces Stiverne later this month. Wilder has a lot of things going for him that people don't give him credit for. Wilder has the 'killer instinct' that many fighters lack, including Michael Grant. When I watch Wilder, he looks like a young bad a$$ George Foreman who wanted to put a hurtin' on ya.

Yes, your memory is shot. Grant was AWFUL. No skills, no balance. Nice guy, but an awful fighter. Wilder isn't any better skillwise, but he is in no way an inferior boxer because Grant's boxing skills were a zero.
