Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Trainer: No Ward, Froch Offers Ever Made

Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBO/IBO/WBC-interim middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28KOs), says his boxer has never received an offer to face either Andre Ward or Carl Froch.

The critics have come out after Golovkin made it known that he's still very interested in facing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at 168-pounds. Many are wondering why Golovkin would be willing to face Chavez at 168 but not Ward or Froch.

Tough To Argue With GGG's Camp; They've Always Been Very Transparent

GGG has been very clear he'll fight anyone to show he's the best in the world. He's fighting 3-4 times a year. He has asked repeatedly for these other MW belt holders to get together to unify, and they want no part of Gennady. Cotto wants Canelo who he can't beat either and claims GGG brings no money. Soliman had an opportunity with GGG, and chose Jermain Taylor instead and lost. Quillin won't fight anyone. Chavez had the best opportunity, then played the "Floyd card" and blamed Bob Arum. Ward wants to lose 4 consecutive court cases to the Goosens with no near term interest fighting. Floyd would NEVER go to '60 to fight GGG, like Leonard, Hearns, and Duran all did to challenge Hagler. Not much you can do when nobody wants to man up and challenge Gennady, except for Canelo, who said after he bests Cotto he'll fight GGG.

The Ward fight needs to season into a Mega PPV Fight. It all falls on the shoulders of Golovkin to make that happen. Ward decisions GGG

it falls on the shoulders of Ward to step back in the ring. Dude has been out of action for over a year and said he wants not one but two tune up fights whenever he does return. And of course he wants to be paid handsomely for those tune up fights. As a result, Ward is irrelevant and there is zero obligation from Golovkin, or anyone for that matter to reach and and try to make a fight with Ward. Once he does get back in the ring and he finishes with his tune ups, hopefully by then GGG will have cleaned out 160 and they can easily fight. GGG by KO.

I'm still wondering why Ward hasn't moved to 175? Oh that's right he's retired

He capped off his career with the great Edwin Rodriguez like 2 years ago

because kovalev and stevenson are there(ward ducked a stevenson fight at 168 so he certainly isn't going up to fight him)

He would definitely be the B-Side. Ward Would Decision GGG with ease. GGG is fantastic. The only fighter that can beat him is Andre Ward
