I think the fight's result depends very much on the weight at which it is fought.

Cotto maybe more technical, which I'm still not sold on, but Canelo can really fight tough and is himself very skilled. I expect Cotto to submit in the late rounds, all bloodied, ala Margarito. Canelo's size, strength, and combination punching will do the job.

Canelo doesn't have a quarter of the stamina Margarito had, not to mention the legit ATG chin Margarito had.

Canelo seems not to be able to deal with movement. He really needs to set his feet to let his punches go.
If Cotto can keep Canelo following him around all night he has a great chance to win. But as you said stamina issues.
