Cotto maybe more technical, which I'm still not sold on, but Canelo can really fight tough and is himself very skilled. I expect Cotto to submit in the late rounds, all bloodied, ala Margarito. Canelo's size, strength, and combination punching will do the job.

canelo is a different fighter than margarito, much better if you asked me, people underestimate his defense, but more important his patience and counter abilities, this to me will be the key for this fight along with speed and power which always come into play... cottos jab and feet movement will make the fight competitive to some point, but he doesnt have floyd or laras type of movement and i doubt his face will hold to the later rounds, a featherfisted trout had his face looking like a pizza... IMO this fight ends with a stoppage by ref or doctor...
but should be fun while it lasts...

I changed my mind the minute I saw Sergio in round 1, though.

That was after he got hit in the head by Cotto, you'll be saying the same thing against Canelo. "I picked him to win but in the middle of the fight I know I made the wrong pick so I flipped flop so I could be right." The same people who picked Martinez because he was bigger, faster, more athletic, better boxer...

How is Canelo supposed to win? Martinez arguably could have been better than Cotto at those things. Canelo arguably might have more power than Cotto and that's it, that's his only advantage. Speed goes to Cotto, footwork? Cotto. Ring IQ? Cotto. Ring generalship? Cotto. Stamina? Even. Corner? Cotto.

What exactly is Canelo going to do throw some basic combinations? Cotto has better timing, he has more experience... There is nothing Canelo can do to win this fight unless it's a KO and the only guy he's KO'd in at JMW is a shot to **** Angulo and that was a terrible stoppage and before that he last KO at JMW was against JWW in Josesito Lopez. Hopefully you guys get over the Canelo loss hangover much sooner than the Martinez one because at least Sergio was a good fighter. Not a hype-job who's never had a clean win over good fighter in his entire career.
