What do you like/dislike about HBO and Showtime's telecast?

I don't really have too much of an issue with Showtime's telecast. I like Morrow, Paulie, and Al but Jim Grey annoys the hell out of me. He comes off as a d*ck honestly and the way he conducts himself rubs me the wrong way. I want him replaced by someone else, preferably with a good looking girl reporter.

My issue with HBO is Jim Lampley. He goes way over board when he announces fights. I remember when Pacquiao was fighting Joshua Clottey and Pacquiao was hitting him since he shelled up then Jim Lampley was like "****, ****, ****, ****." It's like dude, STFU. It was annoying and honestly he rides a lot of fighters nuts a lot too. I enjoy Max Kellerman and the others. I really miss Lennox Luis when he was on there. He was great.

Anyway, what do you like or dislike about each network?

i wish they would always show footage of the fighters arriving at the arena like they usually do on the ppv broadcasts. i've always enjoyed seeing that. idk why.

i have really grown a strong dislike for max kellerman. i can tolerate lampley, even though he does go overboard sometimes.

i really enjoy everything about the showtime broadcasts. i like how they throw it back and forth to brian kenny up top.

I prefer showtime broadcasts nowadays because hbo, now, is basically three guys talking over each other. There's no play by play anymore. The only good contributor is roy or ward, who actually talk about what's happening. Back in the day this is no contest, lampley, merchant, foreman, Lewis was unintentional comedic gold.

Personally I dont like Rinallo at showtime think he should stick with MMA just something about him. Jim Grays a upper crust douche but I give him a pass. I like Bernstein and Paulie

HBO I hate(d)Lampley & Lederman . Lampley is a joke he rides the a-side HBO fighters nuts so hard . in close fights unless you pay attention to every second and have the volume on mute it's hard to give a honest opinion of the fight he does more harm then good. Kellerman and the rest I like and think they do a excellent job.

I think both generally provide quality product with good production values.

My problem with both is essentially the same once they get stuck telling the tale of the fight, they tend to be caught up in that. Rather than really focusing on the flow of the actions.

In some fights it is worse than others but it is generally always the same.

I'm really liking showtimes commentary lately. And lol @ at the pac vs clottey fight. I love manny as much as the next guy but lampleys commentary was embarrassing

You don't have to take their commentaries seriously. I go for fast talking, lively, animated voices. Joe Rogan types. It's sports.

So I don't mind Lampley, Ranallo, Kellerman, Kenney, Bernstein...Paulie is just right for Showtime as a commentator. So is Roy Jones. I agree that Jim Grey is boring as hell. I don't like his random interviews in the middle of fights. They annoy the hell out of me. Put a lovely girl instead and it might get my attention, like the lady round by round commentator at Championship Boxing in Miississauga, don't know her name but she obviously knows what she's talking about. She must be a former boxer herself.

Lampley is the voice of boxing for me, without him the network's quality is somehow lessened in my mind.

Some hot chicks doing interviews would be a nice change, and I really don't think anything would be lost considering nothing gets said before or after the fights anyway.

I hate Jim Lampley, I hate Mauro Ranallo, I hate Harold Lederman,I hate Jim Gray.

Jim Gray is an assh0le. Doesn't let a fighter speak his mind if he cusses. Lampley sucks pacquiao's **** way too much. Mauro Ranallo's voice gets on my nerves, And Lederman is an awful judge. So is his daughter.

Gus Johnson is the best blow by blow commentator. If anyone commentates Mayweather vs Pacquiao, it should be Gus Johnson. Weisfeld is a good judge. I don't agree with his Provodnikov vs Algieri score.
