Julio Cesar Chavez by a country mile for me. Roy Jones was ****ing good, but he only really beat two real contenders, and Hopkins wasnt the fighter he grew to be when they met. Chavez beat the better fighters and over a longer period.
This is what i read about comparing him to Cesar Chavez
"let's see fighting over a hundred fights, commendable, but 100 fights...let's look at this under the same scope that RJJ is examined...if Roy doesn't get credit for beating Ruiz or Clinton woods whom are champs...then that cuts out maybe 70 opponents...so JCC would only have what close to 40 fights...he beat meldrick taylor courtesy of Richard Steele, but he beat him, lost to Frankie Randall in the first fight, had a draw with Sweetpea, beat good contender Camacho, beat uncle Mayweather twice, other than Sweetpea, which of those fighters is a sure fire HOF...and if there is one I doubt they'd be regarded higher than B-HOP or Toney... So of the many boxers whom have boxed in the modern era the only name you come up with is JCC...i'll humor this, in which case let's say that makes jones number two in the modern era behind JCC, you mean to tell me that if he's number two in the modern era he wouldn't be top 5 all time?
And here are the hard numbers in case you didn't know..
JCC(108-6-2) opponents (2597-536-81) 22-5avg. only 37 title fights...31%
RJJ (49-4) opponents (1385-244-40) 26-5avg. 28 title fights 53%
this isn't even close...even with that padded record of bums this isn't even close.....who else do you have? and I could go even deeper and tell you who's worth mentioning that their opponents beat..."
