  • Comments Thread For: Roach: Without Pacquiao, Mayweather's Legacy is Ruined

Hall of Fame coaches Freddie Roach, who trains WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, feels WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. is very hesitant to accept the challenge of a super-fight on May 2nd.

Roach still feels Mayweather's motivation is to retired undefeated and he refuses to take any risks which would jeopardize that undefeated record. Roach is still confused as to why Mayweather made a decision to face Marcos Maidana in back to back fights in 2014.

It will be tainted by us hardcores, but I believe the Greatness of Money May (&Manolo Pacquiao) will be greatly exaggerated once retired. I ask my Grandfather about certain fighters from his era, & he always tell me they're not as good as some historians portray

I Don't know, its pretty common for non-boxing fans to think Floyd is ducking Pac, especially with the UFC crowd.

Mayweather Jr will always be remembered, he transformed the sport in a lot of ways too.. And If u really listened to Floyd over the past few years he could really care less about his "0" or not as much as people believe otherwise he wouldn't have fought Cotto at 154 or Canelo, these are middleweights....

Absolutely correct. He needs to beat Manny to prove he's the best of his era, but he's going to fight Khan

One fighter does not make or break a legacy.

If Floyd doesnt fight Manny; in 20 years Manny will go down as the greater of the 2.
