I'm not saying that he didn't fight bums.
But if the 'bums' are the best contenders of that particular time, then what is he supposed to do? Whenever there was anyone good in or around the heavyweight division Louis fought him. Carnera, Schmeling, Baer, Braddock, Conn, Farr, Sharkey, Walcott, Charles even Bivins and Marciano.
It's not like Louis was cherry picking like Wlad clearly is with Jennings.
I don't think Louis would ever entertain fighting a no hope opponent if a top contender was ready to go, which is the point.Comment

Life was much simpler for Louis than it is for Wlad. Joe only had one title to defend. Wlad has 3 and he wants to pick up the 4th.I'm not saying that he didn't fight bums.

Fighting Jennings, if that's what he does, will be a strategic move. It will clear a path for him to fight the winner of Stiverne/Wilder - Jennings is mandatory for that as things stand - and whet the US fan's appetite for a big unification fight with all 4 titles at stake.
I'd love to see Wlad fight Fury next, especially if it happened in the UK, but I can understand why he will probably want to go to the US instead.Comment

But honestly, nobody knows who Jennings is. I understand what Wlad's trying to do, and I can understand why too. I'm not saying I wouldn't have done the same. But it's a cherry pick. And I was really only replying to that guys idiotic comment about Joe Louis.Comment

I don't know how well known Jennings is in the US, but I think he's the best heavyweight they have. His resume pisses all over Wilder's.But honestly, nobody knows who Jennings is. I don't think he's big enough to pose the same kind of threat to Wlad as Fury, but I still wouldn't call Jennings a cherry pick, unless I knew that Fury was correct about Wlad being scared of fighting him.
As I said, Jennings makes a lot of sense for Wlad, unless the WBO decide to strip him for not fighting Fury.Comment
