I really don't understand why some fans seem to have some emotional stake in what kind of money a fighter makes...I always thought boxing was an ass-kicking contest, not a money making contest...

Are you emotionally invested in the contestants on "The Price Is Right", "Family Feud",etc.?

Maybe you sit and watch Bloomberg TV in the hopes that Bill Gates is overtaken by Warren Buffet in net worth?

Cause he certainly seems to be............left HBO for Showtime to fight Hopkins, had a rough-out, pulled out of the Hopkins fight.........NOT to fight Kovalev........that's why.

This is all talk. Nothing more. He knows he can safely say that and then blame HBO and Kathy Duva for not working with Haymon.

He has been exciting KO'ing some guys............but at 36, he got a lucky shot on a guy who had his boxing heart taken by Andre Ward in his fight just prior to that in Dawson and, well, Kovalev is just better, meaner and stronger. Power is a push.........and if that's all he's got, he's going to lose.........

Stevenson couldn't even show him how to kick Hopkins' ass! Maybe the pimp dwarf should worry more about getting his ass kicked in Fonfara II rather than worrying about Pascal! If you are going to give Pascal a lesson in kicking Kovalevs arse then a good way to start would be to not run like one of your hareem in a dawn raid from said fighter & do it yourself! Then again you couldn't... That's why you are hoping the athletic slugger who couldn't even out hustle Froch can do it for you! Shame he can't....

If that wasn't your point, I didn't make it for you. Kovalev will fight Stevenson and give him the larger share JUST TO UNIFY because he's a REAL champion who's only immediate threat is at 168 and fighting with his promoter while he waits for GGG to clean up MW.

Ward is the real future at LHW...........assuming he decides to keep fighting. He'll blunt GGG and Kovalev. Stevenson would have ZERO chance....

All this will be perfect for Ward as GGG is about to take over PPV (44% of Ring Mag readers ranked GGG #1 P4P vs a combined 31% for Pac and Mayweather),......... and I'm sure Kovalev will be pulling in a good share by then too after his last performance......

But that's still over a year off............so after Kovalev wrecks Stevenson, he'll have two years to clean out the top ten while he waits for Ward to move up.........which will be another GREAT & $$ fight for both guys.....
