Cotto fought a better Mosley. He also did better against Mayweather. He lost to Trout. Martinez is better than anyone on Canelos resume.

Cotto has an ego the size of his balls(They are huge) he will not let Canelo have an advantage on anything outside of maybe the date and the venue since he knows fighting in Vegas means more money.

        Cotto's main demands

        A side
        Name it Cotto-Canelo
        60% of the purse split
        15 million guranteed
        Tecate main sponsor
Tv Azteca main Tv provider in Mexico
        Ring size

The reports that say Cotto asked for the catchweight ar wrong. Canelo last 2 fights have been at 155 pounds and at the start of negotiations that was their request and since Cotto had no problems fighting above that since he aint that big he said ok.

A damn shame really. Why is it in boxing that the bigger star you are the more difficult it is to make a fight with another star?

Cotto is pissed that HBO is backing Canelo on the date. If I am Cotto I say give me New York or no fight because something shady might happen.

What? I said the truth in that post. Cotto has an ego and he wants what he wants. No one will dictate what he does.

Exactly cotto lost to trout and beat a semi retired martinez. Cotto is great I like him but he's overated. Didn't beat anybody of note at 154 and beat a old cripple at 160

That is what I have saying for the last two weeks. Everyone else seems to be snorting the good stuff provided by Oscar de la Hoya and believe this fight is already signed, sealed and delivered for May 2.

In the end, I would still bet everything that I own that Mayweather will end up fighting on PPV on May 2. If Cotto/Alvarez is made, it will be held in June. If it is not made (which I believe), Alvarez may be fighting Joshua Clottey on free HBO on May 2 just to piss in Mayweather's kool-aid, but he won't be on PPV.
