Chris algieri is the worst opponent he has faced in probably 12 or 13 years and he was the number 3 ranked light welterweight, co headlined an HBO card, and beat the a side in that fight, the ferocious ruslan provodnikov and it only did roughly the same buys as pacquiao Rios which was 475k according to herchman, you really think they'd put him against Vargas who has no hype, no real big win in his resume, and hasn't headlined or co headlined an HBO card? Get real people, if it does happen I will be highly pissed off but its not

Terance Crawford was also told he was a b plan option, who do you think their more likely to go with? Obviously Crawford, because even if he loses that doesn't really look bad losing to pacquiao or mayweather because its basically expected. They should either have Crawford fight Vargas in march to take his belt or just have Crawford fight pacquiao, and then have Mikey Garcia take Vargas belt on a headline HBO card and the winner face pacquiao in the fall. Then Manny will be regular wba super lightweight champion and they could force a fight with Danny Garcia! He has alot of options there's no way hes fighting someone who's never headlined or co headlined an HBO card, nobody knows who he is

Also there was an article where that said top rank contacted Eddie Hearn to see about a Tim Bradley kell brook fight, I have a feeling they may have inquired about pacquiao and kell brook as well for a plan b. That would be a hit amongst hardcore boxing fans, it would do great on English ppv , and probably do good on American ppv as well, plus he has ibf welterweight belt and then hopefully they could make the match with mayweather for winner take all titles for u disputed ww champion, last fight of floyds career in September. The stakes would even be bigger for that. I really don't see mayweather having any other options besides pqcquiao though, he is liable to lose to khan mako g a third of the mo ey, there are really no other opponents besides Danny gar is but I dint think al haymon would risk his undefeated record seeing as mayweather will be retitring and someone will need to pick up the void
