Great post here. Floyd is nothing more than a jealous, insecure, bully of a fighter. He's a hater of both Manny and Oscar's accomplishments and popularity. Manny's body looks exactly as it did in 2009. Manny's level has actually improved, mentally than back in 2009. He's smarter than ever in the ring. Now, what about Roidquez? I've gotten Red K for stating what appears to be the obvious; but because it was Manny he was fighting, everybody wants to act as if Roidquez is soooooo great. His neck, back, and biceps are HUGE and he now has one punch KO power at age 40/41. His legs remain sticks but his upper body is BIG. Now, who is juicing again?
Catch-weights that bring a heavy guy down in weight is a big no no, it takes everything out of that fighter. Both Floyd and Manny are guilty of this but what Floyd did with the Canelo catch-weight fight is worst than what Manny did with any of his catch-weight fights and I'll explain why.
Oscar was old and past his prime, Margarito has always been a over-hyped bum, and Cotto was washed up/shot since Margarito 1 (the Martinez win means nothing, he to was an over-hyped bum). Pac just beat old, washed up fading stars at catch-weights that were made to build Pacquiao's name brand and pass the torch with the casual and common boxing audience. I didn't watch any of those fights.
Floyd on the other hand, is the true catch-weight king for what he did with the Alvarez fight. Floyd had no problem fighting Oscar or Miguel Cotto at 154 except Canelo, why? Why the 152 catch-weight? Once a fighter achieves his min or established, optimal weight, that fighter can NOT go half a pound under! But casuals don't understand that concept, catch-weights or what it did to Canelo that night. A big guy like Canelo is not supposed come down in weight like that, it took everything out of him. He was physically weak/no strength, drained and had no pop behind his punches. Basically, Canelo wasn't at his best or 100% that night.
That fight was supposed to be a mega event, clash of the titans, best of the best fighting each other and it should have went down as another great fight in boxing's history. Instead, the fight was a complete joke because of the catch-weight, it was nothing more than an over glorified sparing match.
Floyd and his team knew what they were doing, they manipulated a young, rising star in Canelo. How would of Floyd felt if he was manipulated and taken advantage of so early in his career with that catch-weight? Truly disgraceful that Floyd is, how dare he do that. Oh but no, you're a racist or a hater if you bring that up.
And that's why Floyd gets no respect, he's a scam, snake oil salesman, a con artist. His best win was against Diego Corrales. Manny gets respect and will be remembered because of his wars with the 3 Mexican greats: Barrera, Morales and Marquez.
Ummmmm Canelo was the one who mentioned he could fight at a 152 catch weight. I wanted it to be at 154 too but Canelo was too dumb and eager to show he was willing to bend to get Mayweather in the ring. Should have kept his mouth shut and the fight would have happened at 154. Also when Floyd fought De La Hoya he had to move up to 154, wear Hoya's choice of gloves and take a smaller ring. That's how it is in the minor's until you make it to the majors (unfortunate) but how it is. What I don't agree is how you tried to give a pass to Manny for his catch weight fights.
There's no lesser of the evils here because Cotto was demolished by Margarito and struggled against Clottey with a big gnash above his eye and Pacquiao STILL made Cotto fight at a 145 catch weight when he fought De La Hoya who was physically bigger than Cotto at the full 147 limit. Roach goes on record and talks about draining guys to take something out of them and if you don't believe it I can pull up quotes. There was even one about Mayweather before the first negotiation:
Freddie Roach On Mayweather/Pacquiao.
"It would have to be a catch weight, probably 143, 144 (pounds)," Roach said. "I don't think it would be at 147. But Manny's not afraid of anyone."
Freddie Roach, May 1 2009
Don't forget what Roach said to Mosley when Shane wanted to fight Pacquiao after Margarito. Roach told Shane he could have the fight at 142/43 and Shane said why not 147? You fought Oscar at 147 and Roach said "You're not Oscar". And here you are trying to tell us that Pacquiao is the lesser of the two?

Catchweights been going on in boxing since it began.
But they only became horrific and terrible when Manny put black America in panic mode.
I totally agree with everything you stated about the Canelo fight. Casual fans don't understand the science of boxing. Canelo is a BIG and muscular fighter already struggling to make 154lbs. He didn't have two pounds of fat to lose. What should have been a legacy fight, turned out to be a joke!!!! Floyd thinks he is smarter than what he is. The right approach would have been to add a rehydration clause for fight night. But no. Not Floyd. In Canelo's very next fight against Angulo, he was fast, energetic, stamina was in tact, and he displayed WHY Floyd wanted the catch weight to begin with. In a rematch, Canelo would hurt this version of Floyd and he KNOWS it.

Clamouring for excuses.
Catch weights been here since the beginning but Roach and them intentionally uses them to gain advantages on numerous occasions:
"Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny, "Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter.

But he fought him a year later after that article was posted with no catchweight... what happened did Shane transform into a totally different fighter?

Let me guess, Mayweather totally ruined him
He ducked the version Floyd beat , after Shane went a draw with a nobody and looked totally shot he wanted to fight Shane and said he will knock him out , he got frustrated chasing a shot fighter that didnt throw a punch , when he meets Floyd he is going to see frustration like never before .
look at all the picture not just through toilet paper roll .
I dont think a fighter has ducked another fighter as many times as floyd has ducked Manny, add the other fighters he ducked and lump in his behaviour outside the ring and it all paints the true picture of floyd as a rather greasy, coward of a man. I cant think of another great fighter who has done more to harm the image and integrity of the sport.
