Since Arum said it was 48 million, it was probably closer to 20 million. Also, this means nothing for two reasons. One -- the fight was on free television. If Mayweather or Pac fought on free television in the U.S. instead of PPV, 40 or 50 million would tune in to see them too, Also, those 20 million people didn't tune in to watch Manny Pacquaio. They tuned in to watch Zou Shiming. Arum himself was quoted as saying that that half the crowd walked out of the arena before the main event started for the Pacquaio/Rios fight because they were only there to see Shiming.

Shiming is huge in China. Pacquaio is not.

Pacquiao is not huge in china. Where did you get you facts from. Is that a guess or have you any proof.

IMO, Chinese audience would be more interested in watching Chinese boxers instead of a Filipino one (even though it's Pacquiao). That and there's some territorial disputes going on right now between China and the Philippines so it might affect the way they view Pac, him being a Filipino.

How do you know he's not big. His face is everywhere. He's the biggest Asian athlete in the world. I'm sure Nike commercials are played in China. The conflict with china has nothing to do with pacquiao so I don't know how that affects his popularity. I hate when people make bold statements without even a shred of facts.

There's even a commercial with jet li and pacquiao. How do people know he's not popular in china. Some true hating idiots on these boards.

I didn't say he wasn't big, and of course he's very popular worldwide. But like one poster said, he was watching Pac-Algieri at a bar in China and the people there were more interested in watching their countryman, Zou Shiming, compared to watching Pac, which is understandable.

If you're referring to me, I'm not hating. Calm yourself. I was just giving my opinion.
