Roy Jones dissing Floyd

He's tired of Floyd's BS like everybody else. Roy went ahead and dared to be great when he could have retired basically undefeated at 50-0 too. (you know he didn't really lose to Griffin)Comment

No one cares what Skip Bayless thinks.
No one is going to be turning to Skip Bayless' opinions in 40-50 years time to learn the story of Mayweather's career. It's the real fans of the sport who'll tell that story.
Manny's career doesn't depend on some notion of invincibility. Floyd's does, to a greater extent at least. For that reason, not fighting a prime Pacquiao will always hurt him a lot more than the reverse hurts Manny.
It's not going to define his career, but it's an asterisk, like Roy says.
Floyd is as out of prime as Pacquiao, and the KO to me doesn't make Pac out of his prime, it's not like Pac Vs Morales 2-3 when Morales was beat into submission and got KO'd.
And why was he beat into submission, because his reflexes and stamina had diminished over time.
No, Pac was simply caught with a shot, it happens to the best of any great boxer.
But to me, clearly Floyd has aged more than Pacquiao.Last edited by LinealChampion; 12-19-2014, 01:20 PM.Comment

Yeah, he might not have thought he was being filmed, but this is how RJJ really feels. I imagine it's true of all the former greats, no matter how diplomatic they try to be.Comment

Exactly.
Hopkins II (earlier)
Calzaghe (when it mattered)
Rochigiani
Michalczewski
Nunn
ect.
He also, went and cherrypicked a HW title with no intention of fighting any other legit guys then ran back down in weight. If social media/forum messages were around when Roy was fighting, he would have been hated on more than Floyd.Last edited by _original_; 12-19-2014, 01:31 PM.Comment
