Agree with you on the scores. Jmm is a legend. One of the most underrated fighters of his era. Don't get me started on the PAC fights haha

I scored it 7-5 for benavidez, benavidez is a very timid fighter. He had no reason to rope a dope

It's to actually block out the noise of the crowd, and the biasedness of the commentators, so when you score, you are scoring onl

I scored the fight 114-114 a draw. I was very very surprised to see people later calling it a robbery. I thought Benavidez clearly landed the better shots. I also thought Herrera was much busier and active. I think a lot of the stuff Herrera was doing was ineffective though. If I had to call a winner though I would have leaned toward Jose Benavidez. Just because I favor quality of punches landed more than body shots hitting the elbows and the power behind the punches. Really tough fight to score though very subjective.

good way to lose sight of one very important criteria, "clean and effective punching"

but then again there are guys on here who actually score rounds based on whoever landed more, even touches count

honestly alot of herrera's bodyshots were elbow flicks, literally, he's feather-fisted enough, but elbow flicks? you score the straights to the body and the hooks that are hard, but alot of the time i dont know how you can score those elbow flicks, they were completely ineffective, and not scoring blows

i dont get this "mute the sound" talk, can't you just ignore their opinions and pay attention yourself?

exactly, but still, like you had it a draw, very possible, imo it could have swung either way, but the judges cards were too wide, but then again alot of people here have it too wide for herrera

To you it wasn't a robbery but to me it was. I agree that Benavidez has the talent to be a better fighter than Herrera but he has to fight smart and take advantage of his best skills. In this fight he often fought ******ly by laying on the ropes and letting Herrera pound away on him. His corner kept telling not to do this but he continued to make the same mistake and in the opinion of most neutral fans it cost him many rounds. So it doesn't matter if he is a better fighter than Herrera because he fought a ****** fight and lost enough rounds laying on the ropes that he deserved to lose by several points.

Not surprising that the same people who've shown an inability to score fights are the same who said it was a draw or Benavidez win.

Nearly all ringside observers scored it for Herrera

                      They must've had hbo on.
