Just watched this fight back. I gave it one round to benavidez in a very close fight. Might have gone either way. Yes the judges cards were a farce because it was very close. But to say Herrera was robbed is a bit disrespectful of benavidez who to me was clearly the more talented fighter.

I agree with you...Herrera only landed a few more punches but benevidez landed the harder shots throughout...I think ppl feel he was robbed cuz of what happened in the danny Garcia fight but let's be honest pity pat punches that landed on the elbow shouldn't count as punches landed,nothing Herrera did was eye pipping unlike benavidez when he landed you knew they were good hard shots..the right person won..all that bull**** of charging with your head down and throwing punches needs to be penalized cause that's all he does is lead with his head -

I think a lot of people were swayed by the hbo commentary. Max Kellerman would not shut up about the Danny Garcia fight. And from round 1 they were predicting this would happen again. I think Herrera set some sort of record on compubox with his body shots, but he has similar stats in other fights. He throws pitter patter punches to the body which has no effect at all to his opponent. Might score in the amateurs but he won't impress the professional judges. I like Herrera but he is limited. Benavidez definitely has a few more gears but needs to get fitter. He has all the physical tools to have an advantage at this weight but he is wasting them with his back against the ropes.Comment
