  • Comments Thread For: Stevenson, Michel Embrace WBC's Kovalev-Pascal Nod

WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (24-1, 20KOs) is delighted with a recent order handed down by the World Boxing Council, according to the boxer's promoter Yvon Michel of GYM.

Stevenson will defend his title on Friday night against Dmitry Sukhotsky (22-2, 16KOs).

During Wednesday's mandatories meeting at the WBC's ongoing convention in Las Vegas, the sanctioning body ordered that Stevenson will have to face the winner of the March 17th clash between WBO/IBF/WBA champion Sergey Kovalev (26-0-1, 23KOs) and WBC Diamond champion Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17KOs).

You could say Adonis is trying to save face with these comments from his team, but he should know he has none to save at this point.Adonis is held in about as much regard as Quillin right now.

What a pair,Adonis Duckenson and Peter Quackllin.boxings Laurel and Hardy.

Is this what the pimp wanted? To get killed into the ring, in autumn, 2015?

Michel talking like he's in charge, does he think we don't remember the last time he tried to put this fight together?

Uncle Al said no, and Michel fell back and did what he was told even in the face of legal action.

Stevenson didn't want to fight Kovalev and went running to Haymon, he wanted to fight Hopkins but Haymon had Stevenson duck Hopkins too and then Pascal.

Now we're expected to believe Stevenson wants Kovalev and Haymon is going to let the fight go ahead on HBO? despite making Quillin vacate, having Wilder turn down $1m+ and paying Postol off to avoid fights on HBO

            Pull the other one.

It would have been Stevenson v Kovalev last year but now it's Kovalev v Stevenson

The pimp rather vacates than facing ultimate punishment.

This is the fight I wanted to see. And now it's going to cost HBO a **** load when they had this fight last year.
