Speculation. I'm sorry, but Floyd moved up a weight class and thouroughly ignored the best matchups in that division. He is now a welterweight and fighting a guy that will do nothing for his reputation of deserving the #1 lb for lb spot. I'm not saying Zab is a chump, I'm just saying this fight will do more for Zab if he wins, which is probable but unlikely, than it will do for PBF. If history repeats itself, he will fail to face anybody we want to see him fight at his current weight class. The Lb for lb list constantly evolves and reflects the current best. I say PBF, no doubt, was the best at 130-35 but not at 140-47 until he prooves it otherwise. Who has he faced recently to say he is #1? Every guy he has beat at his two current weights would also get beat by the other fighters he failed to face. On the other hand, prooven fighters like Winky and Pacman who have faced and dominated the best are ranked below PBF. I too feel that skill wise, nobody comes close to PBF, but I'm sure Hatton, Cotto, Kostya, and Margarito deserve a say in the matter. Hope something happens. -

I AGREE WITH YOU..Originally posted by ELPacmanFloyd is without a doubt not #1 P4P. Until he gets some balls and faces Elite competition, he's just a ghost in the #1 spot on many people's list. Don't let his talent and skills fool you. He's just showing casing these on weaker opposition rather than taking on what people consider the best. I'd say Floyd is #3 or 4.Comment

Currently I would have to say that I agree Floyd should be at #3 and that all the opposition he has faced recently were easy opponents. I do think that if Floyd "mans up" and faces the best he would probably win. Though I think he is the best fighter in boxing , I don't think that warrants the #1 spot until he actually prooves it. In my book Floyd has surpassed the statute of limitations for his #1 spot by jumping a division without actually prooving anything. I would have to say as a fan my patience has run thin with Floyd.Originally posted by ELPacmanFloyd is without a doubt not #1 P4P. talent and skill wise he's #1 P4P no doubt.
but his opponents as of late and in the future ...(Zab....DLH...) are questionable.Comment

Does he deserves to be called the p4p #1? Maybe. Do I care bout p4p rankins? No.
You know what is sad; the kid is the most talented fighter I have ever seen. But to be called one of the greatest or the greatest you have to be in GREAT FIGHTS. He has all the tools to beat anyone, but the reality is that he doesn't fight the best, he fight what ever is best for him financially. I can't blame him for that cuz at the end that's his work...Comment
