I'm tired of having good fighters sacrificed only to lose their value after Floyd dances with them and all this "easy work", "he lost to Floyd though". A tournament I can get into on its own merits where i don't have to be reminded of how all this figures into Floyd's scheme. Just fights please.
Translation: im tired of having good fighters GET THEIR ASS*S BEAT BY FLOYD, only to lose their value.

Keep it real with yourself for once.

This is a solid idea. However, I suspect that even IF Floyd was still around and did fight the winner(s), his critics will **** all over who ever he would fight as they would claim the winner(s) are not good enough to beat someone as great as Mayweather.

What assurance would we get from Floyd that he would even entertain fighting the winner(s)? Without that marketing it as some tournament to get Floyd means nothing. It could spoil the whole thing.

They will only say Floyds opponent was good enough when he loses. Mosley was in beast mode in round 2.. Round 12 comes and "hes old".. Just that quick.

But, that is my point, that this is not true. How could 8 fighters in even one division possibly face each other, in 1 year? And without any planning? It takes almost 3 years for a fighter just to have 7 fights, and we are expected to believe the top 8 are going to face each other? Why come up with this now? Its just smoke and mirrors.

This is all just BS hype, to move fighters Floyd doesn't want to face, off the board.

It says Floyd will be retired or the winner will be in position, i guess to be crowned champion.

I like the idea with or without Floyd involved

Not a horrible idea, tourneys are probably the way to go now, to at least try and force fighters to face each other. Still not gna happen. The super 6 was all on showtime if im not mistaken, so while the wbc approves this did arum oscar and haymon?

Way too many obstacles for this to happen, networks, promoters willing to pit their top guys against another. This also imo can hurt careers and cash cows imo, so i dont believe this will ever happen.

The top fighters are not going to go for this ******ed idea. How are the top 8 fighters in two weight divions going face each other in a year?

So effing dumb. Just another gimmick so he can explain why he didn't face Khan or Pac.
single-elimination tournament; three wins to the mandatory shot. If three fights in a year is too heavy a work load, for a fighting trying to secure a title shot, tough luck.

Have you ever seen a tourney bracket? Its very feasible to have all 8 face eachother in a year.

Plus article reads "a year or longer"

If you honestly believe that Arum is going to put Pacquiao into three fights, back to back to back, that aren't in-house showdowns, you're delusional.
