Would Pacquiao be a hall-of-famer if he never moved up to welterweight and beyond?

oops, accidently voted no. meant to vote yes of course.

Pac's resume at 112, 122, and 126 alone would get him in the HOF by todays standards

anyone who saw pac on the undercard of LEWIS-TYSON ppv would know he was special.

he fought a solid opponent on a big stage with the whole world watching and came thru in a big way.

how often have we seen a young up and comer put on a major ppv undercard to show off and failed to impress?

      pac impressed.

julio was a good fighter. 2-time bantam world champ, olympic medalist, very good W-L record.

pacquiao showed the huge difference between a SOLID, GOOD fighter and a SPECIAL, GREAT ONE.

His legacy was secured by beating Morales, Barrera and Marquez.

Barrera and Marquez for sure. Winning titles beforehand in multiple divisions. Very impressive resume before moving to 147. I wouldn't count Morales though.

            morales still counts.

he was past it but it still counts. morales was still good enough to beat him the 1st fight. morales was actually winning the 1st half of the 2nd fight until pac wore him down.

gotta remember that an absolutely shot older morales took maidana and garcia to the scorecards 6 years later at 2 divisions higher.

6 yrs younger morales ar 130 was still a handful.

              We've had this conversation before.

2nd one was an ok win.

that's the 3rd fight. that's when he came in delahoya kangaroo diet shape.

he was fine 1st 2 imo. did he wear down sure. but everyone wears down against that pac. especially if you brawl with him like morales did.

he was top 2 at 130 when he fought pac the first time. having lost a close fight to barrera and beating carlos hernandez and jesus chavez who ain't no scrubs.

                    yes.

he was a bona fide first ballot ATG before ever touching foot above 130lbs.

and yes the morales fights count lmfaaoo at the floyd fck boys saying it dont count. that was great trilogy and morales was highly rated for the first two fights. the 3rd fight you can bag on for being unnecessary but it was still a great fight.

Just remember Morales fought Danny Garcia twice and marcos maidana before floyd fought him after having 3 fights with manny.

be careful not trying to give manny credit for beating morales.

you will look like a dumb and ignorant hater.

He moved down though for the second fight, right? Going off memory.

I think he wasn't making the weight easy the first time, then he moved up to fight Raheem, got dominated, then moved down for the second Pacquaio fight, and I don't think that's something he wanted to do.

So I think the weight was definitely an issue in the second one. Not like the third one of course but still a problem, plus he was well passed it obviously. He did do well in the second fight but only In the early rounds IMO, I've heard some people say Morales was dominating he most definitely wasn't. Again going over memory but I had Pacquaio sweeping the rounds after the 4th or 5th.

Anyway, a decent win still. Definitely not an overly good one, IMO.
