  • Comments Thread For: Chris Arreola: I'll Fight Antonio Tarver and Kick His Ass!

Heavyweight Chris Arreola has advised Boxingscene.com that he is likely to return to the ring in late January or February.

Arreola has not fought since losing by technical knockout in the sixth round to Bermane Stiverne on May 10 in Los Angeles.

While no opponent is lined up for Arreola (35-4, 31 KOs), there could be a possibility Arreola may face Antonio Tarver later in 2015. Tarver knocked out Johnathon Banks in the seventh round at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California on Thursday night. Arreola was ringside during the Goossen Promotions fight card.

Hell, why not. That was a good comeback for Tarver, and Arreola needs to bounce back somehow. Both men could position themselves for something bigger again with a win. It would be a must win for Arreola, who says he is back training and in focus (meaning not ballooning up as he used to in between fights).

Make the fight as early as possible, both fighters are hungry now.

If Tarver won, he'd be the world's oldest heavyweight champion.

I think Foreman vacated his belts after he won.

He's got a chance if Chagaev shows up like he has been lately---overweight.

Tarver vs. Arreola is a decent HW matchup.

                I hope it happens.

Winner is in the running for Wlad or Wilder/Stiverne winner, loser is a journeyman who will lose motivation and just get fatter and fatter.
