I'd like to see how mainstream sports would do on premium tv. You'd see a lot of 2 million type audiences, unless it was the NFL.

HBO at this point pays very little for boxing compared to other sport contracts. It's a steal for them.

HBO has the bigger boxing fanbase built up over many years, not to mention the bigger subscriber base in general. Showtimes numbers for what they are and their new found goals in boxing are impressive.

Name 9 other sports that would draw over 1 million viewers on a premium network.....

The only fighter to come close to 2M over the past three years is Chavez Jr, when he fought Rubio.

Just ten fights over 1M is pretty bad alright.

                In 2012 it was 16 - http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/boxing...6022--box.html

                In 2013 is was at least 25 - http://sports.yahoo.com/news/despite...204009683.html

hbo is killing them. imagine next year when hbo and golden boy start putting fights together instead of just top rank on their network. good luck to showtime.

@ la vaca de dinero. hopefully chavez/froch happens next.
