You're way off. That's exactly what would happen. They would bring up the undeserving Fighter of the Decade award Manny won, Mayweather waiting for Manny to get old, Manny was better than Floyd in their primes, etc. You honestly think Floyd will get credit from his critics for beating Pacquiao? I learned after the Mosley fight, that Floyd will never get credit for any fight. The HBO crew, including Larry Merchant, were in awe and near silence at Floyd shutting out Mosley.

That is all they're getting though and for every avenue of revenue they could have made money there are expenses to pay for it. Gate and marketing are all that's really left and those come with hefty expenses of their own.

Showtime have gained over 1 million subscribers since signing Mayweather. How many of those are down to Mayweather/boxing nobody knows but i'd say there'd be quite a few. Just having Mayweather on their network helped Showtine lure fighters, fans over and to compete with HBO.

I didn't say that, but you don't know how much they're getting either. What's strange to me is how the PPV king is now relegated to other sources of income to prove how badass he is at PPV. It's like celebrating a 40 point game in the NBA but you needed to shoot it 40 times, the cost was more than what the final product was worth.
