What if Holyfield wasn't robbed vs Valuev

He looked almost vintage in that fight, he absolutely dominated the 7ft tall Valuev and beat him far more convincingly than Haye did afterwards.

Whilst Valuev was big and awful If he didn't get robbed he'd of been the only man to ever win a heavyweight world title 5 times and would of broken Foremans record as the oldest heavyweight world champion ever.

What do you think this would of done for his legacy?

I'd say nothing changes. If the general consensus is that he was robbed against Valuev, they'll count it for him anyway.

I guess it might help some to have those stats on his side.

I happen to have seen that fight and it was horrible. Holyfield landed 3 or 4 clean shots per round vs Valuev's nothing. I wasn't even that mad that Holyfield was robbed because it was such a bad fight that frankly neither guy deserved to win.

I don't think getting the W would have done much for Holyfield's legacy. He could have retired as "champion" and that would have been nice, but everyone knew Valuev was awful and not that hard to beat. Mariusz Wach is ten times better, and he's considered fringe world class these days.

First off Holyfield won the fight in my opinion, and is definitely one of the greatest HW's of all time, just take a look down his resume - With Brian Nielsen as the last (and absolute best) win!

Brian Nielsen and Valuev weighs about the same in terms of skills, and probably weight too. Valuev wasn't a boxer, he was a circus act i mean he could not throw a punch. Nice guy though, from what I've seen.

Holyfield has some incredible depths to his resume, a true warrior who took on them all and lived up to his name all the way through, he was the real deal.

He did win that fight but is similar to Bhop's latest victories. In the grand scheme of things...so what? The old man can still fight a bit, so? Longevity = greatness? No.
