But posters will be dishonest like that and its hard to have a real convo in here.
Oh yeah, forgot about that, what a surprise it has turned out to be.

"Hey I want Pac for May 2nd"

"No sorry, Canelo's called first dibbs. . . Can't offend the Mexicans"

But all reports have made it clear the fight is nearly complete and on the verge of being officially signed for May 2nd.

Meanwhile Floyd posted Marquez highlight videos on facebook and tried to use Manny's name to scare competition away from May 2nd while bringing up the usual roadblocks.
You realize that Cotto's lawyer said that they are only halfway through the negotiations right?

june during PR DAY PARADE weekend is also a good date for msg.

but i'm sure if they crunch up the numbers, vegas/cinco de mayo is way way more money.

casino site fees are higher than arena site fees. way higher.

          gate will also be higher.

and as far as ppv. 35 mil mexican-americans vs 5 mil pr-americans

also no state tax in nevada. ny does.

          msg/june can't compete with vegas/may financially.

Exactly, top rank and odlh want to maximize the cotto canelo fight by using that date. They know may Pac will break records any day they stage it. It's simple business.

i don't understand why it's such a big deal to floyd fans.

if canelo-cotto is may, floyd will fight another day.

if not, floyd will fight may.

i don't see the big problem.

I know who he is and he really doesn't want arum involved suppoaedly. Point is Arum isn't really involved in these negotiations

. . . And Floyd wants to maximize his event too on that date, something he has been doing for 5 years prior. Simple really, can we atleast agree they both want the same thing?

That's all nice and well but honestly I don't think Cotto cares. He hasn't in the past and that's not gonna change now. I mean all we have to do is look at his past fight negotiating to know he does what he wants unless he is pitted against a fighter he respects as being a higher seller i.e. Floyd and Manny. There is a resin Cottos team is playing hard ball. Cotto might give up the date and the venue but he sure as hell is gonna get a much higher purse for doing so. He's not giving up everything for Canelo.
