No one is keeping Canelo from fighting in the country that actually celebrates that day though. You guys are mad a black guy is fighting in AMERICA on a Mexican holiday. Canelo can go fight in Mexico can't he?

What does that prove? He fights in Mexico, still has his PPV in America, and is still trying to get the Mexican dates back. Good luck finding someone that is a big name fighting in Mexico.

My point is why is he mad Floyd is fighting on that date? It's a Mexican holiday, not American yet Canelo is saying how "wrong" Floyd is while Canelo wants to only fight in the US on that date. It's hypocritical.

Simple business concept you would think people would understand this but then you read a lot of morons responses in this topic they don't get it. It's not rocket science

It is hypocritical but it's dumb that fl.omos give him **** for wanting to fight on his nationalitie's holidays. What if Floyd fought at msg during the Puerto Rican parade fighting strictly Puerto Ricans and Miguel Cotto who is actually Puerto Rican wants to fight in the same venue and place? Should he be given **** because he wants to fight on that date and arena because it means more to him?

No one is giving him **** about fighting that day-its because he thinks a Mexican holiday gives him the right to fight in the USA on that date.

If canelo wants to celebrate the holiday in Azteca, no one would have a problem. But he doesn't even want to be in Mexico that weekend so its hard to argue the holiday means that much to him.

That's like celebrating the 4th of July by going to Toronto for a Drake concert..

If someone with more drawing power than you fights on certain dates don't get mad. Beat him in the ring or at his own game, I wouldn't be crying about it. But your analogy doesn't work because Canelo's never headlined a PPV on Cinco de Mayo in Las Vegas. Ever. The one chance he had at doing it Floyd's name was first and Canelo got schooled.

Basically in your scenario Floyd is the Mexican because he's been the mainstay in Vegas on Cinco De Mayo weekend for like 5+ years now. Do I blame him for wanting it? No. But he had his chance and now is looking for someone to give him a handout. He had his chance and he blew it, he's done nothing in the sport to garner any special treatment. That day is not a Mexican day, it's Floyd's day and it's as simple as that.
