Thurman isnt some good boxer/mover. He was forced into that a few fights ago because he couldnt outslug Chaves. Chaves is no Maidana. He stuck with it because Karass is big and is going to always come forward. Then he didnt to a bigger extent against a weak puncher who isnt any good and looked like ****. Thurman is regressing IMO. Some probably won't agree, but I'm not fooled. Moving more doesnt make you a boer and it doesnt make you better.

Maidana by stoppage or Broneresque beatdown.

Unless Maidana knocks Thurman out with one shot, I can't see him winning. Even if Maidana hurts him, Thurman is going to be on the move and very hard to finish off.

I got Thurman outboxing Maidana, dropping him once or twice and stopping him late, maybe with a body shot.
I agree! Chino wins only if he puts Thurman to sleep with one punch. Otherwise it will be a long night for Chino.

stylistically thurmans all wrong maidana...throwing really hard power shots off the back foot with good lateral movement...more power than alexander, khan, and mayweather...not a good match up for marcos...I'd be pulling for MM though he is truly a bad mofo

            Just read the comments.

It seems as if most of you think Maidana is just a face first brawler like he was 3-4 years ago. I guess we forget about his ability to feint, and trap you on the ropes. Push you back with his jab. Maidana is still aggressive because that's his strong suit, but he's smart about it now.

This forum is so ****ing ****** though, you guys couldnt even predict Lemiuex beating Rosado. If you had watched Lemiuexs prior fight it was an easy call. Then a lot of you thought Khan Alexander would be close. Look what happened. Thouyght Kovalev was just a stiff brawler, look what happened. A lot of you are just wildly horrible at anything boxing, and shouldnt be having serious discussions on it.

To be fair, I picked Lemieux to stop Rosado late, Kahn to dominate Alexander via wide UD,

and X to decision Kova. All my picks are there in ink.

i would slightly favor Thurman in the fight, but i'd be rooting for Maidana. the problem is Thurman will fight that fight the way he fought against Bundu. he'll just use his legs, make it boring, and outpoint Chino.

i didn't used to be this way, but lately i've been hating watching fighters who use their legs so much. there's a difference between boxing and just using your legs to run around and avoid any opportunities of engaging. i mean when Floyd stays in the pocket and uses his defense and boxes, it's a thing of beauty. but watching these guys that just move non-stop and use their speed to easily outpoint guys...I don't like it. i know it gets the job done, but why should fans pay to see it? virgil hunter is always encouraging khan to fight this way, but fortunately khan lacks the discipline and likes to engage. otherwise he'd be borderline unbeatable and unwatchable.

It's a simple discussion dude, chill out. I don't think anybody is still painting Maidana as a mindless brawler after giving the best boxer in the game a very tough fight. Also, don't act like you get every single prediction correct on here. Teddy Atlas predicts every fight wrong, guess he DKSAB.

I am amazed with your short term memories. This maidana who supposedly beats hype jobs also got outclassed by devon alexander, went life and death with an old, fat and shot to dog **** erik morales. He was also getting hit with everything josesito lopez (a natural 140 lber) threw and was hurt by him. He finally beats a good fighter in broner (another guy who's not a real welterweight) .The only true welter weight he ever beat was jesus soto karass. fmj proved to the world the world that maidana didn't belong in the ring with the elite even though real fans already knew that. Why are you dummies thinking that maidana can beat any one near the top of the division? He's slow, he can't box for ****, he gets hurt by much smaller men, his punches are wide as hell and his defense sucks. Stop with the nonsense already

I think it's a close fight but I think Maidana would be the most likely winner after Thurman's poor showing last night. Maidana would have gone after that light punching old guy that Thurman fought and knocked him out quickly.
