it doesn't make sense to have two big ppvs on one night. doesn't make sense business wise or for the fans. why is it may 2 or nothing? why not fight in april? or like someone else suggested the 4th of july weekend?

plus roach trains cotto and manny. so it's not very do able to have cotto and manny fight on the same night.

Haven't you heard? Non-Mexicans fighting on Mexican holidays maximizes revenue. That's why Showtime only lost $16 million on Floyd-Maidana on 2 separate Mexican holidays this year.

The date was never an issue for Arum before. He scheduled fights around that date with no Mexicans in top billing, so why does it matter now that he has the chance to make the biggest fight there is. The fight that WE all want, right. The fight ARUM said there should be NO EXCUSES stopping it from being made. If May 2nd gets the fight made, why do fans who want to see more complications?

First, Top Rank and GBP not doing business was bad for boxing, now Top Rank and GBP being besties is stopping the biggest fight there is being made? I wish people would make up their minds what they want.

how do you know it wasn't an issue with team pac? cotto and pac can't fight on the same night because roach is their trainer. most likely cotto vs canelo will happen on may 2 (because canelo isn't going to budge on that date) once everything is all signed and agreed with.
