You're asking me why can't Floyd move date, he can, by why would he? Why on Earth would Arum want to have Canelo-Cotto on May 2nd when they can have Mayweather-Pacquaio on that date?

Why can't Cotto-Canelo move date? Doesn't that make sense to move that fight as opposed to Mayweather-Pacquaio the MUCH bigger fight?

Canelo challenged him publicly, Pac style. Told everyone he was taking Cinco de Mayo weekend from Floyd and dared him to say something. Floyd probably thought it was a bluff and didn't say ****. Then when it looked like Canelo was dead serious and had agreed to terms, then all of a sudden Floyd is talking that Cinco de Mayweather nonsense.

If he wants to stick to the date and challenge Cotto-Canelo, he's going to have to do it with Thurman or Khan (who still has Garcia problems) or some other Maidana level fighter since Freddie Roach can't be in 2 places at once.

Pac-Floyd being on Cinco de Mayo weekend won't affect sales one way or another. Put that fight any weekend next year and it does a minimum 2.5 mil buys at $100 per buy.

Cotto-Canelo on the other hand would be affected very positively by being aired on that weekend as Canelo's fan base is primarily Mexican. The only other viable weekend would be the PR day parade, but that's nowhere near as important as May 5th.

You still haven't answered why Floyd-Manny can't be staged on another date.

Because this fight took off and was "decided" before Mayweather croaked with his decision to fight on May 2. Clearly Mayweather did this inorder to confront TR and Arum and another roadblock.

It is just a day on the calendar and it doesn't belong to any fighter. Both of Mayweather's fight dates are Mexican holidays so why shouldn't Canelo fight on them? Mayweather can fight on the same days and what ever happens happens. Mayweather is an habitual liar. I have found it most accurate to never believe a word he say. Great fighter and great liar.

Don't take Prince too seriously. He'll defend Team Pacquiao no matter what. You can't argue with someone who only sees things from his own biased perspective. What's wrong with the May date? A lot of Mexicans, Americans, and Filipinos will be in attendance for the fight. PR statement or not, that's a ****ty way to show you want to make the fight happen. Anyone who doesn't have his/her head stuck up so far up Arum's ass should be a bit disappointed to hear this statement from him.
