Would be a good fight for boxing purists. Not the chess match many think it would be.

I think Mayweather would take a comfortable UD over Lara for various reasons. Speed and defense being the main reasons.

It would be another great win if he pulled it off.

This is a great fight... I mean, I'd much prefer Pac-May... but if that doesn't happen... Lara is the only other guy out there that has a chance of realistically beating Floyd....I almost wish Floyd-Pac already happened so we could get this fight.... but Floyd's career is almost over and he'll finish with Pac... I know the BS fanboys find this fight "boring" but real boxing fans know what's up... Lara-Floyd is a fight pitting two incredible technical talents and athletes up against each other... Lara has the reach and speed to actually outpoint Floyd

I like Lara but Floyd wins pretty easily. Not enough variation in his punches

Lara has a bigger reach I believe and is just as fast as Floyd... Real boxing fans would enjoy this fight.... But, like everything in this ****ty world, the market is dominated by a public bloodthirsty always for "excitement".... This fight is great because Lara is quick SOUTHPAW with incredible athleticism... Lara has more success than Judah because of his superior pedigree and athletiscm.... But don't worry little fanboys of Boxingscene... the fight never gets made and the Floyd-Pac fight will be nothing but theater....

He looked worse in this fight than he did vs Canelo...

He's like Rigo with a quarter of the punch out put...

Go back to the Cuban school boxing and learn how to get an impressive win... nobody takes this clown seriously...

Lara, Trout, Williams, and Algieri -- long tall boxers will always be avoided by Floyd. He only fights slow come forward fighters.

Lara even more so than Pacman has the highest chance of upsetting Floyd, I'd give Lara an 80% chance, dude is an absolute nightmare for Floyd. Lara has longer reach, is fast, accurate, athletic, has decent pop and is one of the best boxers in the game.

I know people would bring up the Canelo comparison but in my opinion that holds no validity as to what'll happen if Floyd were to face Lara.

It truly is amazing when even Floyd haters don't want him in with Lara who has a very high chance of giving Floyd his first official loss. Makes me think they're closet flowmos.
I wouldn't pay to see a Lara vs Floyd fight, they both fight like *******, it would be a snooze fest. However, I agree that Lara would give Floyd a run for his money at 154 because of the style match-up. Lara would make Floyd the aggressor and Floyd would be forced out of his comfort zone. Floyd's also had moments of weakness with boxers, ex, a past his prime Shane Mosely.

But its never going to happen because Floyd's looking for the most profitable bouts, bouts that will have everything to his favor/advantage. Thus his last two fights will most likely be against lighter fighters coming up in weight like Amir Khan or Manny Pacquiao, and then Danny Garcia or a Canelo/Pacquaio rematch.

Whereas, Floyd should be fighting guys like Timothy Bradley or Keith Thurman at 147, James Kirkland or Erislandy Lara at 154 and GGG at 160. They're clearly the best or a stylistic nightmare but Floyd won't fight the best or take on a challenge unless he has the advantage like the catch-weight with the drained, weak Canelo or if they're washed-up and past their prime like Cotto or Oscar.
