  • Comments Thread For: Amir Khan: Perhaps Freddie Roach Was Upset I Left Him

Last month, BoxingScene.com ran a story where Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach discussed the past sparring sessions between Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan. Roach swore that Pacquiao blasted Khan several times in the gym and downplayed the magnitude of the two of them colliding down the line.

Roach claimed Khan was decked at least "four times." Khan left Roach in 2012 and hooked up with Virgil Hunter, who is best known for training super middleweight king Andre Ward.

Khan indeed was the number two cash cow for Freddie. and he is a egoistic man. BUT nah, It is just who Freddie is these days. Always talking **** like he was the one fighting. He is the coach, not the promoter!

Freddie made Khan a better fighter, but Khan needed something different to get even better.

As a fan, I was upset Khan left him too. He looked better under him despite the 2 straight loses. He got jerked vs Peterson and was doing good until he got caught vs Danny. Now he's a damn clinch machine and it's hard to watch him considering how fun it was to watch Khan before the move.

Khan has never said he "schooled" Manny. He said that they both got the better of each other at times.

Roach is the one who said that Khan kicked Manny's ass in sparring a few months ago. Now he's changed his tune and says Manny knocked Khan out.

Roach is like a hormonal female.

Khan speaks so high and mighty of himself it makes it so difficult to like him.

He spent over 2 months publicly saying how he may stay with Freddie if he is given more presence and time, and Freddie predictably always said Manny was #1 and that was that.

So if anything, Khan didn't just up and leave he wanted to stay and wasn't getting the compromises to be treated as top dog.

As for Virgill helping him, I think he's being shown better defensive movements now but perhaps it's doing more harm than good at this later stage. It's dampening his best assets in some respects. So I don't see where he gets off playing the big boy after his last few fights.

hmm if khan is saying no way manny outclassed him and maybe he should send a video to remind freddie, to me that is khan saying he got the better of manny. if it was an even match why would he say manny never outclass him and should he send the vid to remind freddie?

No he's saying that Manny didn't outclass him. Comprehension issues?

Outclassing someone means you completely dominate them. Khan has said they both got the better of each other at times.
