Comments Thread For: Julian Williams Talks Future, Centeno Rematch, More

Philadelphia's Julian Williams (17-0-1, 10 KOs) could have been content with his 2014 which thus far has included two knockouts in his three victories, yet the opportunity to fight one more time before the year ends provides him with another chance to show off his talents.

"I'm extremely pleased, Al Haymon always keeps me busy, he's always got a lot of dates. I'm super motivated, super ready to take advantage of my opportunity, 'J Rock' told BoxingScene.

I don't miss J-Rocks fights, fun style and quality fighter. Kind of disappointed in this fight though. Ortega is a low-level skinny WW, what's this fight supposed to do for Julian's development? The last guy he fought was 14-0, but none of those 14 opponents even had a winning record and before that Freddy Hernandez was on a 4 fight losing streak. Bread shouldn't be that surprised why he's ranked so low, they need an opponent with some meat on them and they had it with Centeno before they were robbed of a victory. Someone like Charlie Ota would've been great.

Williams was too busy and accurate for Centeno. Centeno might need a few rounds to warm up, but Williams wasn't going to let him. The cut was a way out, but Centeno has JW problems.

Williams was certainly in control of that fight. I think Centeno wanted out because he could sense the end was coming.

Centeno has improved since then though. So a rematch would be great. I would still favor J'Rock though.

I'm a fan of Julian and I want to see him in with some contenders. Throw him in the deep end, win or lose it'll be a great learning experience for him.
