This version of Cotto would be Trout. Especially since Trout has been dropped 4 times in 3 fights.

Trout vs Lara would be an excellent fight as Trout has been dropped several times now. Cotto vs a washed up Trout would be second course of action.

If you're simply going to dismiss the notion that styles make fights, and blame it on the trainer, it doesn't really speak highly of Cotto's boxing abilities.

Why the hell would Lara fight Trout again when he beat him so easily the first time? Trout won two maybe three rounds.

So if Trout doesn't even mention wanting rematches with Canelo and Cotto, what does that say about his true belief in himself, or his skills? And even though the typically WAY arrogant and swollen head Cotto picked the most ridiculous fight plan vs Trout... the Cotto NOW would stop Trout mid rounds. This guy, like some here have indicated, is higher end ESPN fare and nothing more. He will never reach the stratosphere like he thinks he will.

Cotto is a fighter man. His "boxing abilities" have always been average. His "fighting abilities" are upper echelon.

Cotto vs Trout 2 can happen after Canelo demolishes Cotto. LOL at Cotto fans blaming the trainer, the same trainer that supposedly gave Floyd problems....Trout owned Cotto plain and simple.

I don't think anyone's blaming the trainer? I'm certainly not. It's common knowledge that Cotto is a better fighter than a boxer. It's also common knowledge that Roach's preferred training methods are better suited for Cotto's style than Pedro Diaz.

I don't think that had anything to do with Trout beating Cotto.

Cotto ****** ass that night. He looked old, shot, and not interested in the sport. And he probably took Trout lightly.

Trout was undefeated, confident, focused, and fought the fight of his life.

Trout was the better man that night. Doesn't mean Trout is the better fighter, and it doesn't mean a more motivated and better trained Cotto cannot win a rematch.
