IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24KOs) is likely going to retire if he doesn't land his most sought after wish - a major fight in Las Vegas. His promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, is talking to adviser Al Haymon to secure a March fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. But the Mexican star has an ongoing legal dispute with Top Rank and that factor is preventing a deal from being made.

Froch is open to facing someone else in Vegas if Chavez falls through. He is not that interested in his mandatory IBF challenger, James DeGale.

if that's froch's decision good luck to him. just hope he stays retired.

i would like to see him finish off in vegas against chavez though tbh.

    degale? nothing there for froch.

groves again? he's already beat him twice.

kessler? maybe as a "farewell fight" in the UK.

ward? won't sell in vegas and andre won't come to london otherwise that would be another good one.

I don't know, things do not look like they will be resolved soon and at this stage Carl understandingly needs a big fight to get mentally up for. No Ward, no Jr, maybe GGG fight at a cw could motivate him?

Froch desperate in some way to equal Calzaghe as he will never emulate him.smart move trying to pick Jr. for a Vegas bow, unfortunate how events have unfolded with his promotional issues and the IBF mandatory due up real soon.

Wasnt Frioch offered Hopkins sometime in the last two year ?

He will be missed but judging by this interview, I think he should just retire.

                  Degale - Money

                  Groves for a 3rd time - Money

                  Kessler - Money

Froch has a huge financial incentive to fight these guys. He will bank a minimum of £1.5m with each fight in my opinion.

It's not like he has Floyd or Manny type money where he's drowning in more than he can spend.

If he's smart he'll take fights he believe he can win and make bank doing so, he needs to capitalize on his popularity and turn it into £'s.
