bob better try to get garcia before getting anywhere near vargas, i know pacquiao's just about wiped out the top rank roster so bob doesn't have the fighters to be selective with and is just throwing whoever in there, but golden boy is willing to make fights, and maybe kell brook in the second half of the year

although, there's the obstacle that is al gaymon

Pac day is coming. He can't keep ducking Vargas for long. I got Vargas winning a UD or maybe by KO in 3rds. Just too good, too strong, too slick.

Man I would hope not. Thing is, the Vargas "possibility" shouldn't even be a topic unless the Mayweather negotiations fall through.

Arum and Vargas already said they're pretty much next.

I'm just hoping the crap Algieri numbers will wisen them up... if not, I'm going to enjoy the crap numbers they get

I mean if Pacquiao does end up facing Vargas I'll be the first guy to come here and rip the hell out of Top Rank, but right now they aren't negotiating to face Vargas, they're negotiating to face Floyd Mayweather Jr.
It boggles my mind how boxingscene has been going on more about Vargas lately then about the fight the boxing world has been waiting for. Especially when most other boxing site's have been all over that story.

That's the thing. There are no negotiations at all. All we have is Arum and Oscar saying they "WANT" to begin negotiations and that they "WANT" the fight to happen next year. We have yet to hear from Floyd, or any Showtime/HBO reps that there are actually any talks going on. No one outside of Bob Arum has been talking about a negotiation. The closest we have is Oscar saying he wants it to happen as well.

I would not believe a word he says until I hear it from Espinoza, Ellerbe, or Floyd himself. Until then its the same old song and dance from Bob.

I haven't read anything where Mayweather, his team or any Showtime rep denies the negotiations have taken place either. Their silence speaks volumes.

No it does not. Floyd never speaks on the subject unless he is involved. The history of these negotiations proves this. This is especially true for Espinoza, he would have said he was working on it if he was involved. The only comment he has made that is remotely close regarding Floyds next fight was that he has not spoken to Floyd in weeks.

So until one of them confirm, its just hot air.

Wrong. More like until one of them come out and DENY the rumors, the story is relevant.
