HW division in 5 years: is the future bright?

I personally think it is. Well, part of my optimism stems from many good HWs coming up from my country of birth -- USSR. I think many of them (Povetkin, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Boytsov, Dmitrienko) will contribute a great deal to shaping up the new, strong HW division. Of course, this is a personal, very subjective view.

This has been discussed before, that the Euro's will dominate the HW div and hopefully can bring the HW div back to what it used to be but I'm not expecting much.

In all honesty I can't see a proper champion really emerging in the HW for the next few years. Vitali was the next to the throne after Lennox however with his abdication, the whole weight has lacked a boxer to take it by the horns. Hopefully in the next 5 years, it will sort itself out however with Brewster et al having belts, shows a lack of credibility and talent currently about

The HW division needs unification. With the current champs we have a gaint ogre and other guys who would have made it as a top 10 contender 20 - 30 years ago. Lewis was the last joy in the division. We need a good fighter to unite the belts.

I like the HW div now, there has been some really good fights in the past few years. Brewster/Toney/Klit/and a 7 foot giant, should make for some very interesting fights.

There's always the possibillity of some good fighter emerging.

I hope that this division can be repaired, but I don't see it happening. There are a few up and comers that could possibly help turn it around, but James Toney is the only guy with much credibility that's currently in the division, IMO. He's getting old, and I don't know how he'll fare against the bigger guys. I guess we'll see on Saturday. After Toney retires, I'll have little reason to even watch the Heavyweights. Like I said, I hope they can straighten things out, but I fear that this division's beyond repair. Another problem is that Don King promotes way too many of the somewhat competitive HW's.
