  • Lennox left a gigantic void.

Neither of the Klitchko's were consistent enough (Lennox was 39 when he fought Klitchko and still won). Corrie Sanders is too damned unfocused. Samuel Peters needs to lose a few pounds and learn to straiten his punches. Tua has his weight problems for such a small frame. Byrd is too boring. Valuev and Ruiz? Oh lord.

Only James Toney seems to be the most skilled heavyweight out there but despite his craftyness, he's getting older. Once he's had enough, I don't see anyone out there.

    Is there?

Never seen him fight. Will he be able to beat Peters, Klitchko, Rahman and Toney?

                This guy is hyped.

He goes from looking mediocre to the next great heavyweight.

I wouldn't put my money on him as the next great heavy. The only person who could realistically claim this is Peter or Brewster. But it is too early to tell with either.

Calvin Vance Brock (born January 22, 1975 in Charlotte, NC) is an undefeated contender in the heavyweight division of boxing.

Brock is known not only for his boxing skills but also for his skill at handling money. Brock has a degree in finance from UNC Charlotte and manages his own portfolio. [1] Brock—formerly a banker—received his nickname from a Bank of America ad, in which he was referred to as The Boxing Banker. [2]

Brock had a notable amateur boxing career. In 1999, he won the U.S. amateur championship at 201 lb. At the 2000 Summer Olympics, he competed on the U.S. boxing team as a super heavyweight (as a teammate of future world champions Jermain Taylor, Jeff Lacy, and Brian Viloria), but he did not win a medal.

Brock turned professional in 2001. Although he has built an impressive record, Brock has not fought many of the top ranked heavyweights. Brock's most well-known opponent was Clifford Etienne—an opponent of Mike Tyson and, later, Nicolay Valuev—whom Brock defeated by round 3 TKO on January 21, 2005.

On November 19, 2005, Brock won his first title—the IBA Continental Americas heavyweight title—when he defeated David Bostice by unanimous decision.

On February 25, 2006, Brock was part of the Shane Mosley vs. Fernando Vargas undercard. He knocked out Zuri Lawrence in round 6 with a left hook that "could end up being the knockout of the year." [3]

Brock's next fight is tentatively scheduled for June 24, 2006.
