Freddie Roach Put Pacquiao-Mayweather Talks in Motion

    November 23, 2014:

Few tell Mayweather what to do, but Moonves’ prior lucrative backing has to count for something if the executive feels compelled to ask Mayweather to give the Pacquiao fight stronger consideration than he ever has.

Sources close to Mayweather have said the unbeaten fighter has never wanted the Pacquiao bout more than he does now.

Pacquiao is pushing for the bout, from his new Foot Locker ad to his bending in purse-split percentages. He told The Times Friday he’s willing to accept the fight at terms the Mayweather side has told The Times will be required to make the fight happen.

Following a Pacquiao-Algieri worldwide publicity tour, Roach said he urged Moonves to meet with Arum at the promoter’s Beverly Hills home.

They didn’t like each other,” Roach said of a strain that dated to Pacquiao’s return to HBO after fighting one bout on Showtime in 2011. “Bob promised [Moonves] three fights … and only gave him one. … [Moonves] actually told me, ‘I’m not dealing with the devil.’ ”

I kind of sneakily put them together, about four months ago. I knew it was risky. … [Moonves] wanted to make the fight without Bob and I said, ‘That’s not going to happen, you’ve got to bring him in.’ They walked out of that meeting with their arms around each other, happy.”

    Let's hope this is it!
"Im not dealing with the devil"

    Wow!

The money is there and he's been offered to be the lead promoter.

What will Mayweather come up with next? As an excuse that is.

That is probably the way it will go down but in the very near future, him not going through with this fight, will haunt him forever. He will be known as a great boxer who talked a big game, but ran & ducked from his biggest rival: Pacquiao.

It amazes me that there are boxing fans on this site who are ****** enough to believe that this is a legitimate offer or that Floyd Mayweather is actually considering this option for a Pacquaio fight. And because they are ****** enough to take this seriously, they criticize Mayweather for not taking the offer.

I don't know who this person is, but I seriously doubt that he has had any contact with anyone in the Mayweather camp. IF Mayweather fights Pacquaio, it will held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas just like every Mayweather fight since 2007 and there will be no investors involved.

                  Jr.

The Pressure must be terrible. Arum by passed Jr and went to the BIG DOG at CBS, Pac is calling Jr OUT,, Roach is demeaning poor OLD JR, the media is calling for the fight, Jr is threatening to get another trainer if Sr keeps mentioning Pacs name, the Pressure must be terrible because that O has to GO! Jr will be in front of the WHOLE WIDE WORLD, his nerves are and will be SHOT,,,,,D-DAY is coming, and HELL is following with it !
For once!! You have a decent post the pressure is HEAVY on Floyd and im loving it. The part of ur post that is pointless tho is "Pac is calling Jr out!" because in all honesty IT DOESNT MATTER ONE BIT WHAT PAC SAYS, Bob has complete say so and control of Pac .when it comes to Boxing, PAC HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OF HIS OWN CAREER and thats my only problem with Pac honestly. Floyd and Pac dont have to agree to the fight, its Floyd AND Bob who do period.

Mang, Do you want the Pac vs JR fight ? IF so do you want it a straight up fight without demands from JR or Pac ? Do you want to see a fair and square fight?
