Then he loses and the bandwagon dies, pictures of that fighter vanish from signatures/avatars. They forget all about 'em once their '0' goes or it turns out that they won't be the best of this generation.

I find that people aren't fans of the fighter, they're fans of that fighter's success. They don't appreciate his fighting style or ability, they just appreciate the fact he's unbeaten in 30 fights and he's considered the best.

Back to the topic of Khan. He gets a lot of stick because he's a chinny guy with belief and that automatically means that he's delusional 'cause who won't knock him out, right? He does have a nasty habit of saying some really ****** things at times, which is what really goes against him more so than anything.
I've never understood why it's like that in Boxing. Or is it just like that on Boxing forums?

I mean, i can't think of any other sport where fans jump on and off from one team to another whenever they want.

Like i've seen people claim ''let so and so beat this guy and this other guy then i'll become a fan''. Which other sport does this occur in? I can't think of any.

It's like saying let Chelsea win the champions league and premier league then i shall decide to become a fan. As if to place some sort of authority on their own selfs like they mean something, once so and so proves oneself to I, then i shall proceed to offer forthwith my full backing support. untill he loses then it's ta ra from me

There are obviously a small minority of glory hunters in other sports also but not nearly as many as Boxing and as openly proud of it as they are in Boxing.

If this guy loses to this guy then i'm not a fan anymore, and i'll become a fan of the guy who beat him. WTF.

''Give da fans what dey wanna see doe.''

I give Khan as much respect as I do most any other B to B- class fighter. I only bash him when people start talking that he should be fighting Floyd. Khan isn't on that level(aka he sucks). Manny should be fighting Floyd and Khan's name shouldn't even be in the mix.

Doesn't that account for 95% of their fanbase?

But yeah, he deserves more respect.....
Can i ask why do you have that picture?

Anyway, to answer the question. Amir Khan is a good fighter with a good skill set and he has done some ballsy things like fighting fighters in their hometown which should demand more respect but I think the perception of Amir Khan is he will never be elite because of his chin. He got embarrassed against Prescott and he did bounce back from it well but then he got embarrassed by Danny Garcia and people have those images in their head when it comes to Khan. Is he a good fighter? Yes. Is he ever becoming the best pound for pound? Probably not.

He gets plenty if respect. He has a huge following and is still considered for big fights *even Mayweather FFS* when he hasn't done **** in at least 3-years possibly 4.

Do yo know why he still held with such high regards? Because he still is respected for his skill.

And this coming from a Khan fan.

Anyone who dismisses Khan as a 'bum' I assume is a spastic.

What is not to like about him? My heart is in my f.uckin mouth every time I watch him. He is box office entertainment. I love the fact the entire fight can be turned on its head at any moment.

If he loses to Alexander he will be dismissed on here as the worst professional sportsman ever. Some posters are a waste of skin.
